Privacy policy

This policy covers this website, sweeteninsurance.com, run by Sweeten Insurance Solutions, LLC ("we", "us") in Lapeer, Michigan. It covers the website only. Once you work with us on a quote or a policy, the information you share is also handled under the agency's own client notices and those of the insurance company you choose.

The short version

• We collect what you choose to send us through the quote form, the chat or the booking calendar.
• We use it to answer you, prepare your quote and follow up on it, including a re-quote within the next year. We don't sell it.
• This website counts visits with Google Analytics, which uses cookies. More below.

The quote form

The quote form on our contact page asks for your name, email address, phone number, ZIP code, city if you give it, whether you're looking for personal or business coverage, the types of coverage you pick, and any message you add. When you send it, it goes to us by email through our form service, Formspree, which handles it under Formspree's privacy policy.

We use it to contact you and to put your quote together. We may also contact you about your quote later, including offering a re-quote within the next year if the first one didn't work out for you. Getting you a quote means sharing the details it needs with the insurance companies we compare. We don't sell your information, and we don't share it with anyone for their own marketing.

Chat and booking

Chat: the chat bubble is provided by LeadConnector. It loads once you start using a page (scrolling, tapping or typing), and with it some services that come with the widget, including Google reCAPTCHA to filter out spam. If you start a chat, your messages and any details you type in go to us through LeadConnector.

Booking: the calendar on our booking page is provided by NowCerts. The details you enter to book a time go to us through NowCerts.

Chat messages and bookings both go into our agency's own system, where we keep them with the rest of your file. Each of these providers handles what you send under its own terms and privacy policy, and may set its own cookies while you use it.

Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to count visits and see which pages and links people use, such as how many people tap to call or send a quote request. It sets cookies in your browser and sends Google details of your visit: the pages you view, the links you click, roughly where you are (city or region, worked out from your IP address), and your device, browser and screen size. We see this only as combined statistics, never as a profile of you. It never includes what you type into the quote form. We don't use it for advertising, and Google Analytics stores no full IP addresses. Google handles the data under Google's privacy policy. See also how Google uses its partners' data.

To stop it, block cookies for this site in your browser, use a content blocker, or install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. The site works the same either way.

Maps, fonts and hosting

Maps on the contact and service-area pages are Google Maps embeds, and the site's fonts load from Google Fonts. Your browser fetches both from Google, which receives your IP address and browser details to deliver them.

The site is served through Amazon Web Services, whose systems may record standard technical details of each request (such as IP address, browser type and the page asked for) to deliver the site and keep it secure. We don't use those records to identify you.

Children

This website is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has sent us personal information through the site, tell us and we'll delete it.

Your choices

You can ask us what information we hold about you from this website, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing [email protected] or calling 810-356-6404. Where we have to keep something, for example because it's part of a policy you hold, we'll tell you.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If the website starts collecting something new, we'll say so here first.
